DO's

• do smile and greet people with the word ' merhaba'

• if you want to visit during a festival, be sure to make travel arrangements well in advance- at least several months

• make sure that you book well in advance, especially over July and August as rooms book up very quickly

• dress appropriately away from the beach. Locals in center town may be easily offended by tourists wearing only swimming suits

• read the regulations for fishing and diving, because Bozcaada sea is under protection

• check the weather forecast before you leave for Bozcaada. strong wind may cause the interreption on ferry trips

• rent a scooter to zip around the island

• even it is summer, take a sweater as it can get chilly in evenings

DONT'S

• dont forget that the sun is very intense, so wear a hat ans sunglasses and use plenty of sunblock especially when you are in secluded coves
  

• dont expect to pay with a credit card everywhere you go. have cash on you for smaller shops and restaurants.

• dont miss out on the local specialities. try local full grain bread , tomota jam, local wines, calamari

• dont expect people to always be on time for things- Turkish time runs at a more relaxed pace
